Preparation Checklist for a Smooth Installation

Your project is scheduled and the crew is on the way. Whether we’re replacing your roof, installing new windows, updating your siding, remodeling your bathroom, or refacing your kitchen cabinets, a little preparation goes a long way. This guide walks you through what to expect and how to get your home ready for each type of project we handle.

General Preparation for Any Project

No matter which service you’re having done, these basics apply to every installation. Taking care of these items helps our crew work safely and efficiently while protecting your home and belongings.

Roof Replacement

A roof replacement typically takes one to three days, depending on your home’s size and complexity. The work involves removing your existing roof down to the decking, inspecting the structure, and installing your new roofing system. Expect significant noise during tear-off, especially in the morning hours. Our crews use dump trailers and tarps to contain debris, and perform thorough cleanup including magnetic sweeps for stray nails.

Window Replacement

Window installation timelines vary by the number of windows in your project. A single window takes a few hours, while a whole-house replacement may span two to three days. Each window is removed and replaced one at a time, so your home stays secure throughout the process. You’ll hear some noise from removal and installation work, but it’s generally less disruptive than roofing projects.

Before Window Installation

Siding Installation

Siding projects vary in length based on your home’s size and the complexity of the installation. A typical project takes several days to a week. The crew will remove existing siding, inspect the underlying structure, and install your new siding system. This exterior work involves some noise from cutting and fastening, and the crew will need access to all sides of your home.

Preparing for Siding Work

Bathroom Remodeling

Our wet area bathroom remodeling services focus on tub-to-shower conversions, shower-to-tub conversions, and tub and shower replacements. Many projects are completed in just one day, depending on the scope of work. The bathroom will be out of service during installation, so plan accordingly if you have only one bathroom in your home.

Before Your Bathroom Project

Cabinet Refacing

Cabinet refacing transforms your kitchen without a full remodel. The process updates your cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and veneers while keeping the existing cabinet boxes in place. Most refacing projects complete in just a few days. You’ll have limited access to your kitchen during installation, so plan your meals accordingly.

Preparing Your Kitchen

On Installation Day

Our crews typically arrive in the morning to maximize daylight hours. A project supervisor will meet with you before work begins to walk through the project scope, answer questions, and address any concerns. Here’s what to expect:

After Your Installation

Once the work is complete, our crew cleans up the work area and removes all debris and materials. Before leaving, the supervisor will walk you through the completed project to make sure everything meets your expectations.
